Anthropic publicly files S-1 for Nasdaq IPO under ticker ANT; 1H revenue $16.3B

AI company Anthropic made its IPO registration public with the SEC. First-half revenue rose roughly 13-fold from a year earlier, while the $80.7B net loss was driven mostly by an accounting charge tied to convertible notes.

AI company Anthropic, PBC said on October 26 that it has publicly filed a registration statement on Form S-1 with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for a proposed IPO of Class A common stock. The shares are to list on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker “ANT”. The number of shares and the price range have not been set; the preliminary prospectus is available from Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Revenue$16.3B (1H 2025: $1.2B)
Net loss$80.7B (1H 2025: $13B)
Accounting charge tied to convertible notesAbout $72B

Why it matters: One of the central companies of the AI boom has opened its books for the first time. The filing shows both the pace of revenue growth and the scale of computing costs, giving tech investors a reference point after last week’s sell-off over AI spending.

Market reaction: U.S. stocks opened slightly higher on Monday as investors digested the S-1 and a busy week of big-tech earnings.

What to watch next: The price range and share count, the listing date, and Alphabet and Microsoft earnings on Wednesday.

Update (Oct. 27): compute commitments in the S-1. The filing shows Anthropic agreed, in deals signed between May and October 2026, to pay SpaceX up to $120.5B for computing capacity through 2029, running on Nvidia GPUs that SpaceX owns. Separately, it lists $542B-$567B of other compute commitments and about $125.2B of five-year lease payments for its own data centers.

Other cloud/compute commitments$542B-$567B
Own data-center leases (5-year rent)About $125.2B

Why it matters: the contract makes Anthropic one of SpaceX’s largest customers outside launch and Starlink, and it shows how much of a future AI IPO’s proceeds and cash flow are already committed to computing. SpaceX (SPCX) rose about 1.2% to $148.66 in Tuesday premarket trading (TheStreet, 7:17 a.m. ET).
