Robinhood falls about 8% premarket after a profit miss; Seagate and Visa also slip despite beats

Investors sold most of Tuesday's after-hours reporters: Robinhood missed on EPS as crypto revenue fell 55%, while Seagate and Visa slipped even after topping estimates.

The day-after verdict on Tuesday’s after-hours earnings was mostly negative.

CompanyKey resultvs. estimatePremarket
Robinhood (HOOD)GAAP EPS $0.51 (-16%); revenue $1.42B (+12%)EPS est. $0.55 (LSEG)about -8% to -8.4%
Seagate (STX)Non-GAAP EPS $7.68; Q2 revenue guide $4.8BEPS est. $7.39 (Investing.com)about -3% to -3.7%
Visa (V)Non-GAAP EPS $3.48; revenue $12.1B (+13%)EPS est. $3.44 (Investing.com)about -1.4% to -1.7%

Robinhood: crypto revenue fell 55% to $120 million as bitcoin dropped about 28% over three months (Reuters), outweighing growth in options and equities trading and a sixfold jump in prediction-market revenue.

Why it matters: Seagate and Visa both beat, and Seagate guided above consensus, yet the shares fell, which shows how much good news was priced in after a strong run in storage and payments. Robinhood’s miss shows how quickly its earnings still swing with crypto prices.

WMR data: Robinhood closed Tuesday 38% below its 52-week high even before this drop, and bitcoin was down 4.5% over the past month. See /en/markets/crypto/.
